Ilauction has got it figured out archie go with his way Mine are both next to a shed I want to save. What did you knock them in with? Push in with machine or use a sledge hammer? It has worked three times for me however I had plenty of clearance. The way I've done it was to knock every other block in direction I want it to fall about three fourths around silo then put cable or long chain threw blocks and pull. I'm afraid of those 2 options because I don't want the chain to break and I also don't want the watermelon cut to fall before we start pushing. I watched another video where they took out a few on one side (like a melon cut for a tree ) and then pushed it from the other side. They attached chains in the middle and by some kind of magic it took out the middle and the top half fell on the bottom half. I watched a few videos on youtube and one of them was very interesting. Have seen a few videos of them taken down but looked a little dangerous. I have one 80 foot and one 75 to come down. I would like to know the answer to that question also. We have an excavator, but I'm a little concerned regardless. Posted 21:37 (#3731242) Subject: silo demolitionÄoes anyone have any suggestions on the best way to knock down a silo? I would say it's around 60' tall.
